Things I Like #1: Again

28 May

I was wandering through the vast nothingness of Youtube and I came across this.

I cannot remember to which video this was linked, nor the search terms. But what I do remember is that I loved it. And proceeded to play it sixty million times.

*

Despite this video having 2,831,681 views (at least one third of which I can attribute to yours truly), when I ranted and raved about them to my friends, none of them even recognised the band-name (or the video, which one has to admit is pretty unique).  My life, at that point, was lower than my blog views bar at time of publishing.  How come no-one* knew about this solid chunk of media awesomeness?

So yes. I did a little background research.  I wikipedia’d them and last-fm’d them… and adored what I saw (ok, heard).

Deliciously bratty delivery, scrumptiously viral and indelibly inventive videos and  gorgeously arrogant guitar riffs, URGE you, my 1.5 readers to spread the word to the poor ruffians ignorant to the pure, undiluted EPIC of this band.

*Excepting from this my friend and fellow music raver-over Nicola, and my moosively annoying sister, Rosie. Apart from these wonderful people  (well, one of them anyway…) I was the only Ok-Go appreciator in the world — or so it seemed.

(Congrats you now have 2.5 readers. I don’t understand why it isn’t more.)
Anyway, this video has been around for some time so its weird none of your friends have seen it. I regret to inform you of this but I believe your friends are lifeless automatons. Air masks will fall down over your head, please secure these tightly to your face, then scream, after this remain in a panic until they kill you after reveling the reason they are invading.

But seriously, this video will always be a jem of pure awesomeness.

My friends are not (hopefully not, anyway) automatons. Thank God. But what I will say is that their music tastes are somewhat limited (mostly to the revolting JLS and Bieber(ew)). So yes. I vent to you, my 2.5 readers (yay!) on the ‘net.

I remember seeing this video the first time round and laughing out loud. I thought it was brilliant (and the song wasn’t too bad either).

That treadmill idea has been used on an advert for some fizzy tablet thing you put in water to wake you up from your hangover so you can actually function at work. As you’re a fellow Brit, you may know the one I mean. I think it’s called Berroca, or something.

Yup, I concede that this isn’t their best song, but it was the first one I found, so it holds a special place in my heart.
And that fizzy seltzer(ish) hangover cure tablet thing? I’m familiar with it. They used a very – shall we say interesting? – song on that one.
